Hello everyone! My name is Joseph Kahwaty, and I am a highly energetic, passionate, and professional DJ Entertainer based in New Jersey who aims to make your special event experiences one to remember. From weddings, parties, karaoke hosting to photo booths, I have an extensive background within the industry and enjoy leveraging my cultivated skills to not only meet your expectations, but exceed them every time.
A little bit about myself, I was born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1959, but later moved to New Jersey when I was a child. Throughout my life, I have always admired music and entertainment. I loved the concept of being able to motivate, hype-up, and surface unparalleled joy that makes events much more memorable. I also had commitment, resilience, and a strong work ethic instilled in me at a young age, and those core principles helped position me to become the reputable DJ Entertainer that I am today. Though I began DJing for weddings, corporate events, parties, etc. right out of high school, I simultaneously studied at Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey for Speech Communications/Theater) and later attended Brookdale Community College before taking a position with a pharmaceutical company in New York.
During my professional career, I held a few other roles in sales. However, as my DJing business grew and evolved, it got to a point where I decided to focus only on that full time. Fast forward to today, and after introducing karaoke into my services back in the early 90s, I have performed for countless events and clients, earning me the non-formal nickname of “DJ to the Stars.” As strong as my business was then and now, there is no denying that the pandemic declined my demand almost entirely for a while. I had to innovate quickly to stay afloat, and that was when I began performing Karaoke on Zoom with a few of my close DJ and Karaoke friends, which caught fire fast. Though many DJs are doing this now, I take pride in being a part of the pioneering group that started the trend.
Overall, nothing makes me happier than being able to make the world a better, fun, and more enlightened place through my work. My business was built on a foundation of authenticity and trust and features the underlying mission to provoke uplifting influences and invested attraction. Overall, I love providing remarkable entertainment services that leave my audiences wanting more, and I am excited to continue leaving lasting impressions that will inevitably raise the industry bar in the future.
When I am not servicing an event or collaborating with a client, I dedicate my time spearheading the new nonprofit organization called “Entertainers for A Cause” with a few of my Karaoke colleagues. This organization aims to raise money for various charities through Zoom events and eventually live ones. In addition, you can also find me dabbling into web designing and the stock market in my free time.
